Tour of the Alps

Every year in April, Trentino, South Tyrol and Tyrol host the Tour of theAlps, a renowned men’s road cycling stage race

The Tour of the Alps is a men's road cycling stage race that leads through the beautiful scenery of Trentino, South Tyrol and Tyrol. It has been part of the UCI Pro Series since 2020.

Held annually since 1979, the race was known as the 'Giro del Trentino' until 2016. Over the years, many prominent national and international road cyclists, some of whom later triumphed in more prestigious competitions, have participated in this event. The course is composed of several stages that wind through the Euregio, a region encompassing Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino.

Francesco Moser, Gilberto Simoni, Ivan Basso and Damiano Cunego are only some of the champions who have cemented this race's popularity. Athletes compete for several coveted jerseys: the green jersey (awarded to the winner of the Individual General Classification), blue jersey (for the winner of the Mountain General Classification), red jersey (for the winner of the Points General Classification) and white jersey (for the winner of the General Youth Classification).
